about

Their sixth studio album, recorded over two sessions in Fall 2010, one in October with Kraig Jordan at Plan of a Boy in Providence, RI and a second in November with Scott Rancourt at Summing Point in Newport, RI. A mixed batch - three instrumentals, a few long psych-rock jams, an ode to the lead singer of The diePods, and short bursts of weirded out pop rock. In all, just about 45 minutes of music from outer space.

Press
"... reminds us of the Minutemen with its bass driven tonality, pulling heavily from the ‘80s SST Record roster. Live, they are one of the most exciting rock ‘n’ roll machines in town, fusing the pre-pop Dinosaur Jr. with a touch of “Sister” era Sonic Youth." - Motif Magazine

"Six Star General hit heavy, kicking up a tsunami of guitar over Watt-like rolling bass lines that tend to blow the air out of the room. their affinity for sub-two minute jams a la Husker Du is way apparent; plenty of wah-wah and drunken fuzz. Hell, referring to this as 'garage rock' may seem too formal; strains of Fugazi and Mission of Burma can all be heard in this trio’s brand of heavy rock." - The Noise

"The sound guy had them lower their amps after every song until they were off.....the best band in New England. - Fairhaven Navigator July 2008

Six Star General Providence, Rhode Island

"Live, they are one of the most exciting rock ‘n’ roll machines in town, fusing the pre-pop Dinosaur Jr. with a touch of Sister-era Sonic Youth.... peaking hard through concise and potent bursts of stoner sludge. Alt-rock fossils still hooked on vintage Dinosaur Jr., Silkworm, and Archers of Loaf should dig deep into their back catalog. " ... more
